Why I Started Writing Again

·1 min read

I've spent most of my career turning messy data into decisions: dashboards, experiments, models, the occasional 2am SQL query that finally explains the metric everyone was arguing about. Very little of that ever left the internal tools it lived in.

This is my attempt to change that: a place to write in the open.

What you'll find here

  • Notes on data & experimentation: how I think about metrics, A/B tests, and the gap between a "significant" result and a real one.
  • Build logs: small tools, side projects, and things I wish existed.
  • Half-formed ideas: published early, on purpose.

Writing forces the kind of clarity that a dashboard never demands of you.

A tiny code sample

Because every good blog needs at least one code block:

def signal(observations: list[float]) -> float:
    """Return the mean, because sometimes the boring metric is the right one."""
    return sum(observations) / len(observations)

That's it for the first post. More soon. Thanks for reading.
